A graduate of the prestigious Gobelins School of Animation in Paris, Pierre Alary began his career as an animator at Disney Studios in Montreuil, where he worked for a decade.

In 2001, he made the leap into the world of the ninth art (comics) and has since created or illustrated numerous acclaimed series, including “Belladone,” “Sinbad,” and a stunning adaptation of “Moby Dick.”

With the series “Silas Corey,” written by Fabien Nury, he established himself as one of the most distinctive voices in the French comics scene. He later collaborated with Sorj Chalandon on the graphic novels “Mon Traître” and “Retour à Killybegs,” two powerful and moving narratives with strong political and personal foundations.

In 2021, he released “Don Vega” with Dargaud, a modern take on the legend of Zorro. In 2023, he returned to Rue de Sèvres to present one of his most ambitious projects yet: a graphic novel adaptation of “Gone with the Wind,” the second and final part of which was released in January 2025.
