LAURA ZUCCHERI

Laura Zuccheri was born in Budrio (BO) on 04/10/1971. The meeting, in 1992, at Lucca Comics, with Giancarlo Berardi and Ivo Milazzo was decisive for her career as a designer. The two, in fact, had just founded Parker Editrice and were looking for collaborators for the new Ken Parker Magazine. After a long apprenticeship as an assistant, Laura is among the first designers to whom Berardi proposes to design her new character, Julia, series by Sergio Bonelli Editore. In February 1998 his first issue of Julia was released, I sequestrati, written by Mantero based on a story by Berardi. The collaboration on Julia ends in 2011 after having drawn and collaborated on several stories and having created many unpublished covers never published (for the regular series and for Julia's Almanac). In 2006 she signed her first contract with the French publishing house Les Humanoïdes Associés for a series of four fantasy books written by Sylviane Corgiat: The Glass Swords. With this publication the author begins a real artistic journey and develops the color technique. At the same time she joined the stable of artists of the prestigious art gallery Salamon & C. where she created several paintings depicting woods, trees and nature. During this period she developed the painting technique on large formats. In 2014 she was recruited by the Tex staff of Sergio Bonelli Editore where she created the Texone entitled Doc!, published in 2019, and subsequently the Color Tex n. 21 of 2022, The Thieving Magpie, and the hardback Pearl, released at the beginning of 2023. On the French side, after the Glass Swords, in 2017, the second project was released, in two volumes, Ritorno su Belzagor, based on the science fiction book by Robert Silverberg – In the depths of the earth. She is currently completing The Ballad of the Red Queen written by the talented Indian writer Sudeep Menon for the Daniel Maghen publishing house and Thellus, a science fiction saga written by Simona Mogavino for Glenat. Both projects are rigorously hand-colored and will be released in 2024. Alongside a busy activity on the comics side, she creates paintings, illustrations and commissions on request.
