GEORGE PRATT

George Pratt is an award-winning painter, writer, photographer, and filmmaker. His work is in numerous private collections world wide. Among the many awards he has received are the Eisner Award for his graphic novels, a Spectrum Gold Medal, the British Speakeasy Award, the France Info Award for his graphic novels, and Best Feature Documentary at the New York International Independent Film Festival for the documentary film See You In Hell, Blind Boy. George’s first graphic novel, Enemy Ace: War Idyll, DC Comics/Warner Books, has seen four American editions, has been translated into nine languages, and was on the required reading list at West Point Military Academy. The book was nominated for both the Eisner and Harvey Awards for Best Graphic Novel, as well as Best Foreign Graphic Novel in Angouléme, France where it won the prestigious France Info Award for Best Foreign Graphic Novel. It also won the SpeakEasy Award for Best Foreign Graphic Novel. George’s 4-issue mini-series for Marvel Comics, Wolverine: Netsuke was awarded the Eisner Award for Best Painter. In addition to his gallery work, his clients include: Warner Books, DC Comics, Marvel Entertainment, The Criterion Collection, Fantagraphics Books, First Second Books, Playboy, National Geographic, among others. George was honored to be included in Walt Reed’s book The Illustrator in America 1860 – 2000. He teaches full-time at the Ringling College of Art and Design, and during the summer with the Illustration Academy in Kansas City, Mo., the MFA online program, as well as online courses with the New Masters Academy.
